Fall Soon-To-Be Favorites
It's that time of the year when your TV literally hugs you, outstretching cups of coffee! Favorites shows come on from the dregg that is Summer TV, not including OITNB. New shows compete to win your heart. From then on, it's a slippery slope to drinking egg-nogs in front of a flaring fire.
Contenders for my Fall TV love-fest, even though I have cancelled cable. But who cares, include:
Madam Secretary: Heck yeah, hell yeah, are you kidding me, yes! My fingers keep clenching and un-clenching in anticipation. Story line reads: "unexpectedly thrust into the position of Secretary of State, ex-CIA operative and college professor Elizabeth McCord must drive international diplomacy and wrangle office politics, all while balancing a complex family life. She's tough, fair and smart driving international diplomacy and wrangling office politics. But when she goes home for dinner with her husband and teenage children, politics takes on a whole new meaning."
It's been done before. Commander In Chief. But, who cares? Did I say heck yeah? Yes, I did! I am even ready for the upcoming conspiracy theories tying this series to Hillary Clinton's unannounced bid in 2016. You know how some minds run. Madam Secretary premieres on CBS, Sunday September 21 at 8/7c.
Proof: Jennifer Beals stars as a skeptical, hard-science, brilliant female surgeon who is persuaded to investigate cases of reincarnation, out-of-body experiences, and hauntings. She has been struggling with family issues, including a tragic death. TNT will premiere the series in early 2015.
Stalker: Maggie Q, after Nikita. Still haven't watched the last one and a half season. But, it's Maggie Q. Series premieres Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 10/9c.
Bad Judge: Kate Walsh, Kate Walsh, Kate Walsh. Even though TV critics are not so blown away by the cliche-ish plot of a hard-living, sexually unapologetic Judge who parties like a college student, all I can think of is Kate Walsh! My Addison Montgomery! Kate Walsh stays in the tiny compartment I also place Jennifer Beal in. Gaddamit, you know I'm watching, sold, whatever these two appear in and I would be cursing-raging whenever their shows get cancelled. Still mad at you, Chicago Code! Back to Kate Walsh, who will always be Addison Montgomery, she's back and I'll love it! It will be cheesy but I don't care! Bad Judge will air on NBC, October 2.
Marry Me: Casey Wilson, Happy Endings 2.0 with only Penny. Marry Me premieres October 14 at 9/8c on NBC.
How to Get Away With Murder: Shondaland. The Merry Go Round that keeps spinning. Viola Davis. I think it will be my Private Practice 2.0. The only reason I ever watched Grey's is because PP was off the air, Peyton One Three Hill had a three episode arch and Calzona, in that order. I miss Private Practice. Then, you have Viola Davis teaching law, practicing defense, sold, sold, sold. How to Get Away with Murder comes to ABC this Fall on Thursdays at 10|9c.
The Mysteries of Laura: Smash was a disaster, mainly because it leaped too high. Broadway on TV didn't pan out that much. Maybe, because it was a series, it quickly wore out its charm and novelty. Who knows? Gave up on the first season. Rent, not! But, Debra Messing returns to TV and I am giddy. Pappy! Pappy in a white tank top, spilling coffee over herself! Fingers super crossed! NBC gets this one too. Seems NBC will be the home of Fall. Wednesdays, 8/7c, starting from September 24.
State of Affairs: because darn it, Katherine Heigl deserves a break. Yes, she messed with Shonda Rhimes but dog house tired anyone? In State of Affairs, Heigl plays a CIA analyst who once was engaged to the president's son before a terrorist attack took his life and currently is a top adviser to the president. It will premiere on NBC on November 17.
ABC's Grey's Anatomy: Only here for Calzona!
Showcase/Syfy's Lost Girl: cannot believe it's the last season. Endgame: Doccubus.
The Good Wife.
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Hello Lucy Lawless!
Nashville: country music and unnecessary drama.
Once Upon a Time: back for Frozen story line.
